A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"


DAD: "Yeah sure, what is it?" replied the man.


SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"


DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?" the man said angrily.


SON: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"


DAD: "If you must know, I make Rs.100 an hour."


"Oh," the little boy replied, with his head down.Looking up, he said,"Daddy, may I please borrow Rs.50?"


The father was furious, "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, Then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior."


The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started

To think:Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs.50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.


"Are you asleep, son?" He asked."No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy.

"I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,"said the man.

"It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the Rs.50 you asked for.

"The little boy sat straight up, smiling. "Oh, thank you daddy!" He yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.


"Why do you want more money if you already have some?" the father grumbled.

"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied.

"Daddy, I have Rs.100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."

Bawang Putih Cegah Cancer?


SEJAK lama bawang putih dipercaya bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Termasuk melawan virus, bakteri, hingga sel kanker. Benarkah?

Bawang putih selama ini populer sebagai bumbu penyedap masakan maupun pengusir setan dalam mitologi vampir. Di luar itu, tanaman bernama latin allium sativum ini sejak zaman kuno juga diyakini memiliki faedah medis seperti melawan virus, bakteri, dan kanker, serta menurunkan kolesterol. Tak heran, bawang putih pun dianggap sebagai "obat herbal ajaib".

Namun, sebuah temuan baru menyimpulkan bahwa bukti penelitian yang mengaitkan bawang putih dengan pengurangan risiko kanker kurang mumpuni dan masih sangat minim.
"Masyarakat ingin memercayai bahwa bawang putih mungkin saja efektif mengurangi risiko kanker, akan tetapi sejauh ini bukti ilmiah masih sangat terbatas untuk menyimpulkan bahwa bawang putih bermanfaat untuk semua jenis kanker," ungkap peneliti dari Ewha Women's University di Seoul,Korea Selatan, Dr Oran Kwon. Dia juga menjabat ketua tim penulisan penelitian yang dipublikasikan dalam Jurnal Nutrisi Klinis Amerika bulan ini.

Untuk keperluan penelitian itu, Kwon bersama timnya menganalisis 19 laporan hasil penelitian yang pernah dipublikasikan dan membahas keterkaitan konsumsi bawang putih dengan pengurangan risiko kanker tertentu.
Untuk proses evaluasi, Kwon dan timnya menggunakan standar penilaian seperti yang dilakukan US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dalam membuat klaim manfaat kesehatan dari suatu makanan.

Hasilnya, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada bukti mumpuni untuk menghubungkan konsumsi bawang putih dengan risiko pengurangan kanker lambung, payudara, paru, dan endometrium. Mereka hanya mendapati bukti yang sangat terbatas, tapi dapat dipercaya, yang mengaitkan konsumsi bawang putih dalam mengurangi risiko munculnya sel kanker pada usus besar, prostat, kerongkongan, pangkal tenggorokan, mulut, indung telur, dan ginjal. Untuk itulah, Kwon menyarankan perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut.

Selama ini sejumlah ilmuwan sudah telanjur berteori bahwa bawang putih mungkin bekerja dengan berbagai cara untuk mengurangi risiko kanker. Termasuk menghancurkan tekanan oksidatif yang disebabkan molekul radikal bebas yang dapat memacu risiko kanker dan gangguan kesehatan lainnya. "Akan tetapi, klaim bahwa bawang putih mencegah berbagai jenis kanker belum memiliki cukup bukti," komentar nutrisionis sekaligus aktivis dari American Cancer Society di Atlanta, Colleen Doyle. "Bukti yang ada masih lemah," imbuhnya.
Kendati demikian, dia menilai kebiasaan mengonsumsi bawang putih tidaklah buruk. Artinya, jika Anda menyukai bawang putih itu bagus. "Silakan saja mau dipanggang, ditumbuk, ditumis. Itu tidak akan membahayakan Anda," katanya. "Jika kelak ada bukti kuat bahwa bawang putih bermanfaat mencegah kanker, ya bagus," ujarnya.

Lebih lanjut, Doyle mengungkapkan, penyuka bawang putih itu sendiri sebenarnya telah melakukan upaya pengurangan risiko kanker melalui diet seimbang. "Kami telah mengetahui bahwa orang yang menerapkan pola diet kaya buah dan sayuran, atau yang berdiet dengan mengonsumsi makanan berbahan dasar tumbuhan (termasuk bawang putih), berisiko lebih rendah terkena kanker," sebutnya.

Terkait manfaat bawang putih dalam mencegah kanker, peneliti dari Universitas Boston Amerika pernah melaporkan, bawang putih dapat mengurangi risiko kanker usus besar. Kandungan bahan yang disebut diallyl disulfide disinyalir membantu memacu usus memproduksi enzim yang bermanfaat membersihkan partikel penyebab kanker.
Peneliti asal Selandia Baru tersebut mencoba memberi makan tikus-tikus dengan kadar disulfide berbeda-beda. Hasilnya, usus tikus-tikus yang diberi makan dengan kadar disulfide banyak dan sedang (berdasarkan takaran asupan harian bagi manusia) mengalami peningkatan produksi enzim antikanker hingga 60 persen.

Mereka lantas menyimpulkan, walaupun hanya sesiung bawang putih, manfaatnya bagus juga bagi manusia.

How to Identify Real Pearls & Fake Pearls

Rub the pearl against your teeth. You may be able to tell this way as real pearls are supposedly rough while fakes are smooth. This is not the most reliable method as you can find smooth real pearls and rough fakes.

Hold the pearl up to the sunlight or very bright indoor lighting. You can check for variations in the pearl's color and tone. If it's perfect in its color and tone, it's very likely fake.

Look at the pearl through the magnifying glass. You should be able to see the ridges and irregularities of a real pearl, or the grainy smoothness of a fake.

Weigh the pearl. Real ones are usually heavier than fakes.

Step5
Test the warmth of the pearl. Resin and plastic pearls are often warm on first contact. Glass pearls take longer to warm in your hand than real ones.

Step6
Check the drill holes. Real pearls are drilled as small as possible to maintain their value, so fakes will often have larger holes. Also, the pearl surface, or nacre, will often flake off around the holes of fakes.

Step7
Check the pearl's shape. If it's a perfect sphere, it's likely a fake.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke....totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a by-stander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.
T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(I.e. It is sunny out today)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms t o the dispatcher.

Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other,that is also an indication of a stroke.

There is one incident which led to a POLICE CASE....KURANG AJAR ABIS pasal hantaran TINGGI2..... :Emak kepada Minah : "Yerlah... anak saya blajar lulus universiti.. ... tak nak bilang baper.... tapi biar lah patut-patut. ... selalunya yang belajar tinggi dalam lingkungan 10 Ribu.... tapi ini lah satu satunya anak pompan saya.... harap harap paham jerlah~" Emak kepada Mat : "Saya paham maksud awak... tapi saya harap awak pun pahamlah yer... kalau terlampau tinggi harus ditangguhkan nanti.... biarlah dicepatkan biar jauh dari maksiat..." Emak kepada Minah : "Kalau awak tak mampu... Anak saya nie bukan taklaku... ada banyak lagi yang tunggu.... dah lah harga rendah.... nak cepatpulak tuh... apa nanti orang cakap..." Mat : "Yerlah makcik... Makcik nie jual anak ke kereta? Takda macam gini.... SEKARANG jugak saya DOWNPAYMENT 2 Ribu... Saya bawak balik anak makcik.... Malam nie saya TEST DRIVE DULU SEMUA.... kalau dalam semua BAIK.... Jangan cakap 10 RIbu 12 Ribu pun saya letak... tapi kalau dah LEMAU, ENJIN PUN TAK BAGUS tuh anak makcik DENGAN DEPOSIT DEPOSIT semua MAK CIK boleh simpan!!" Gelak?? Terperanjat? Dorang pon kena maki terok² dgn 'Emak kepada minah' tu. Sesungguhnya zaman dah berubah, tiada lagi manusia kenal erti ijab kabul,yg diparaktikkan adalah martabat, pangkat dan darjat. Benar walaupun disekolahkan hingga menjadi seseorang yg berjaya, namun mereka lupa akan amanah yg dijanjikan sblm dikurniakan anak itu. Subhanallah.
